Hallmark's writing application is very lengthy--I've tried twice and never made it all the way through. I think they've created a great way to weed out the bottom-feeders like myself.

HGTV Dream Home Will Be Mine

This is the year that I win the HGTV Dream Home. It will become my quaint, little $2 million writer's retreat. I'm being nice by providing the link, but I really don't want anyone else to enter.

Today is leg X-ray day. If my leg isn't healing right I will get a real cast made out of concrete. I'm hoping all is well and that I can just wear my humongo boot for a few more weeks.

A Year In Prison

A maximum security prison in Scotland is looking for an experienced writer to to help the inmates feel more creative. Basically, you would be the writer-in-residence but instead of being at a retreat or a university you'll be at a prison. It sounds kind of intriguing--I bet you could get a book deal about the experience, "My Year at HMP Glenochil." Here is a BBC article about riots at the prison. Sign me up!
